LG X Power 2 specifications and price are official

Last year LG introduced us to the LG X Power and a slew of other X-branded handsets. At least one will make a return this year in the LG X Power 2. The smartphone has been announced ahead of MWC 2017, and we have the scoop on the LG X Power 2 specifications and price.

LG pulled a bit of a fast one on us last year. Their X-lineup was initially thought to be tied to the new X-Men movie at the time, and we even saw a few teasers touting that fact. Well, “loosely” would be the word best used to describe this particular knot as they really didn’t have much to do with the flicks. The LG X Power 2 is the sequel to the smartphone of the same name and looks to be an incremental upgrade over the previous model.

LG X Power 2 Specifications

  • 5.5-inch display 1,280 x 720
  • Octa-core 1.5GHz processor
  • 5GB/2GB of RAM
  • 16GB of storage (expandable)
  • 13MP rear sensor
  • 5MP front-facing camera
  • Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, Wi-Fi, 4G LTE, USB 2.0
  • 4,500mAH battery w/ quick charging
  • Android 7.0
  • 7mm x 78.1mm x 8.4mm 164grams

Compared to the previous model, the new LG X Power 2 has a slightly larger battery and display. That’s about it though as everything is more or less stays the same. Underwhelming is the word we are going to go with and we can see why it didn’t necessarily make the trip to MWC 2017.

While LG has announced the LG X Power 2, they did not tip their hand to its price. Despite the lackluster specs, it could still be a winner in that department. The handset will debut in March launching in Latin America first before moving on to the U.S., Asia, Europe and other locales.
