The best Lite alternatives for your favorite applications!

#

Many people spend most of their time on their smartphone. Our whole lives are basically moving around them, starting from communicating to capturing memories. And we all use some of the most popular apps and services for those purposes. Facebook, Skype, Twitter, Instagram and many more. But, as time passes by, our smartphones get clogged up, and so the apps we use. And if you happen to not use any new features implemented in these applications, you’re basically giving up valuable space in your internal storage for them. But, there is a solution – here are the best Lite alternatives for your favorite applications!

Facebook/Messenger Lite

I can bet that many of you reading this website have a Facebook account. Everyone that I know uses Facebook, becoming our main hub for communicating and sharing stories on the Internet. But, most of the features on their applications are not used from user, which do take up a lot of precious space. That is why they’re also offering Facebook Lite and Messenger Lite, clean versions of them that take up little space and data. They’re perfect if you just want to share something or communicate with your friends, without any of the additional features.

Skype Lite

Skype had one of the biggest updates this year. As many others did, Skype also jumped on the stories trend, implementing the feature in their app as well. Aside from that, they also introduced many other features that most of their users found it confusing. Fortunately, there is an alternative to this – Skype Lite. Currently in early access, you can find all of the basic features from before available, without any of the new ones. It is perfect for the user that only uses Skype for communication and business interviews (like me) and doesn’t need any of the new features implemented in the last patch.

Twitter Lite

One of the best applications on this list, Twitter Lite is as robust as the full featured one. Essentially, it is a packed-up version of the Twitter mobile website, but that doesn’t mean that it is bad. The mobile version of the famous social network went under a lot of changes in the last year, which brought up this application. So, if you only need the basics from Twitter, the Twitter Lite one will suit you the best. And the best part of all of this is that you will still get push notifications – isn’t that cool?

Google Go

You’re most likely using Google to search for something every day. And while you’re probably thinking about how much Google’s app takes space on your device, well, it is pretty big. Google Go is the lightweight alternative, offering you the basic features from the service in a compact package. It does it job well and offers quick links to other things like the weather and similar, but removes some other features, of which the most notable one is the feed. So, if you don’t mind or use that, you can grab the application from the store.

So, there you have it. These are the best Lite versions of your favorite apps. Did we miss any? Share them in the comments below.
