Samsung Galaxy J6 Plus announced!

#

Samsung is releasing some of the best smartphones in the world. The Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus are some of the best-looking devices available for purchase. They also pack the best hardware and cameras available right now, completing the package. The Note 9 is also belonging here and expanding the experience with the S-pen. However, all of these smartphones cost a lot, with the Note 9 surpassing the $1000 mark. But, Samsung offers a lot of smartphones for those with lower budgets too. The J family of smartphones is one of those, and now we have new additions to it. Meet the Samsung Galaxy J6 Plus!

Design

Starting with the design, the J6 Plus is looking pretty good considering the price it’s sold at. The back has a good feel in the hand, and the plastic makes it grippier to hold it. As a bonus, you won’t get fingerprint smudges all over it. There are three different color options: black, grey and red. On the front, the device features a 6” Super AMOLED display with 720 x 1480 resolution and 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The bezels are thin, while both chins are slightly on the bigger side. On the back, you will find the dual camera setup in the middle, with the Samsung logo in the middle. The fingerprint sensor is mounted on the side, doubling as a power button.

Features

Moving over to the internals, we can see where the budget is mostly expressed. The Samsung Galaxy J6 Plus features the Snapdragon 425 processor. This chipset should handle most basic tasks without any problems, but don’t expect to game CPU heavy titles on this. Moving over to the memory, the device comes with either 3 or 4GB of RAM. Heavy multitask users should opt to the 4GB version, but both should be decent. Furthermore, you also get either 32 or 64GB of internal storage. Luckily, you can expand that further through the included MicroSD card slot. Finishing the internals with the battery, the device comes with a 3300mAh one. It should easily last you through a full day of regular use.

For the cameras, you get a dual setup on the back and a single shooter on the front. On the rear, you have a main 13MP shooter and a secondary 5MP shooter. The secondary should be used as a depth sensor. Pictures are decent, with the color saturation being on the higher side – a signature feature of Samsung. On the front, you’re getting an 8MP shooter that should be more than enough for all of your selfies or vlogs. Speaking of videos, the J6 Plus is capable of video recording up to 1080p resolution @30fps.

Finishing with the software, the Samsung Galaxy J6 Plus runs on Android Oreo 8.1, with Samsung’s own skin on top of it. It has many different quirks and useful features that many users love.

The Samsung Galaxy J6 Plus will be available for purchase in India and other select markets across Asia and Europe. Unfortunately, there is no pricing information yet.
