Sony Xperia Android ICS updates OTA for 8 phones

If you are one of the Android faithful that own a Sony Xperia 2011 smartphone, some of you are no doubt still waiting for Sony to update your smartphone to Android 4.0.4 ICS, and as you are probably aware, Sony kicked the update game off last week by pushing our the ICS update to the Sony Xperia P, but what about other 2011 Xperia handsets, when will they start seeing ICS hit?

Well we now have that information for you, as Sony Mobile has now release news on what Xperia handset will see the Android Ice cream sandwich update next, and those devices will be the Sony Xperia Arc, Xperia Arc S, Sony Xperia Neo, Xperia Neo V, the Sony Xperia Mini, Sony Xperia Pro, Sony Xperia Active and the Sony Xperia Ray, all of which will start to gain Android 4.0.4 this week.

After which, in a few weeks time, the Sony Xperia Mini Pro, Sony Xperia Neo L and the Sony Xperia Live with Walkman will also gain the Android Ice Cream Sandwich update, and will be pushed out over the air to the Xperia handsets.

However, for those that are still running the Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system, you will be required to connect your Xperia device to a PC and grab the update via PC Companion or Bridge for Mac, and for those that wish to find out more can hit up here.

Although one has to remember, users may not see the ICS update hit their device straight away, as the availability and scheduling of the Android software upgrade will vary by carrier requirements and markets.
