LimeRa1n Jailbreak Beta Released: Will Greenpois0n Fall?
Geohot really knows how to say up yours to other jailbreaks, the LimeRa1n Jailbreak for iOS 4.1 has been released and many are asking will that stuff up the Greenpois0n jailbreak that is being released today at 10:10GMT.
The newly released LimeRa1n will jailbreak the iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPod Touch 3G and 4G, plus the iPad and at the moment it is Windows only but a Mac and Linux version will be coming soon. Geohot was supposed to be releasing its jailbreak tomorrow (October 11) but in a nutshell and according to iPhone Download Blog Gehot is saying FU.
LimeRa1n is still in beta stages, Gehot say: limera1n, 6 months in the making, is good for iPhone 3GS, iPod Touch 3G, iPad, iPhone 4, iPod Touch 4G, limera1n is unpatchable, released today to get chronicdev to do the right thing, untethered thanks to jailbreakme star comex, 4.0-4.1 and beyond+++,

Do you think it was a little dirty for Gehot to release the LimeRa1n today one day before GreenPois0n considering Gehot was supposed to released tomorrow?

Yes that was dirty, I hope chronicdev meets their ETA and delivers greenpois0n today. Then the community can blame the fact that two exploits were "burned" at the same time on egohot. Why he would up and release a jailbreak to force back the release of another that was already so far in the making is beyond me. There are a number of things I want to say I'd wish happened to ego, but that would be far too immature.
I think he should have waited. Greenpois0n was supposed to be the best jailbreak so far. From what I'm reading online, there are issues with Limera1n.
I'm guessing from this article none of you even have a clue about the actual consequences of Geohots actions and the position the Chronic Dev Team is now in.
The reason he release early is because he did NOT want Chronic Dev to release Greenpois0n and expose there really good exploit that works on iDevices with the A4 chip. GeoHots Limera1n uses a different exploit which is not as good as the SHatter exploit. So he wants Chronic Dev to use Limera1ns exploit and save SHatter for future generation idevices.

just got my iphone 4 4.1 jailbroken with Limera1n without any issues.
if I would be Apple, I would bribe geohot to release his "shitty" exploit before "good" greenpois0n, so the good one doesn't get released at all, or gets postponed… Anyone thought of that? "If jailbreaks have to come out, at least we should control which ones", Steve Jobs might think, and fight the fire with fire. Like in PR, the control over what information goes out is the most important thing.
to Chronic Dev: don't take the bait guys… bring out the good exploit, and let apple work their asses to come up with a patch for it.
you my friend are an idiot, if they released there current jailbreak then apple would be able to patch both of them and might not be able to jailbreak the next generation of devices

people greenpoison will not work on iphone 3gs it only works on iphone 4 im sure a 3 version will come out but not yet i have downloaded limra1n and its awsome i have 3gs 16gb firmware on os 4.1 and works fine with itunes 9.2 or higher on firmware 05.14.02 no slow down or crashes installs and updates cydia super quick installous upto date simply awsome if u got 3gs 4.1 os limera1n is the one takes less then 60 secs to install.
Guys, you seriously think that Apple doesn't already know about both esploits and delaying one because of the other in my opinion is BS!
Hey I used the Limera1n jailbreak and so far everything has been working fine leave it to customer choice if they want to use Green poison go right ahead if Limera1n is your choice than thats fine to who cares healthy competition is always good next time don't post your release date just make the jailbreak and release it when it's done.
