Dolby wants to bring surround sound to the mobile handset and portable media players, and that is why they are at the Mobile World Congress, to announce Dolby Mobile, an audio process platform which brings ‘rich, vibrant surround sound’ to TV programs, movies and video on mobile handsets and portable media players.

So now there is a choice of sound out there, Dolby or SRS, and one can only hope that the mobile world and handset manufacturers will take advantage of these technologies and incorporate them into handset and mobile media players in the near future.
