The number 5 carrier Alltel and been pulling out all the stops lately, and doing a great job at keeping up with the big names in the mobile phone world, and in certain cases something out beating the top jockeys with handsets such as the Glimmer.

Now, again Alltel has got the jump on their more formidable opposition by becoming the first ever carrier to release a firmware upgrade for the Vogue mobile handset, in this case their own Alltel Touch that’s up’s its radio to EV-DO Rev.A speed. Along with the speed upgrade there are a few Bluetooth fixes, and also the ability to add and receive video messages.
