Samsung extends Carphone exclusivity for i8530

Under: Mobile Phones, News, Samsung Date: September 19th, 2008

It is understood that Samsung is planning an extension to the exclusivity of their 8 megapixel Samsung i8510 camera phone with the Carphone Warehouse. This is thought to be a move to placate Carphone Warehouse after a delay with the launch of the Samsung i8530 handset.

Sources at Samsung have said that demand for the i8530 had been higher that previously expected by 30 percent, but has said the delay will be no more that “slight.”

The Samsung i8530 is expecting considerable competition from rivals such as the Sony Ericsson C905 and LG’s KC910 Renoir. The Samsung i8530 is at Carphone Warehouse stores on the Orange network for £35.00 per month.
