HTC’s EVO Shift 4G mobile phone handset may not be the newest addition to their range, but today in order to keep the handset’s customers happy, Sprint have announced a new software update. Named the 2.77.651.3 update, the Shift 4G will benefit from key improvements, although details are still a little vague.
According to community.sprint.com, the HTC EVO Shift 4G update will aid its users from a security improvement, alongside battery life being upped and updated Peep Client that will align with social networking site Twitter.
With details still remaining a little sparse, it can only be said that the new Sprint update will take the Carrier IQ software away, that is currently incorporated into the Shift 4G handset.
As with most other phone updates, users if preferred can manually update their handset today being the 3rd February or actually wait for the OTA update that will take affect from 2nd July 2012. If you’re looking to access the update manually, then head to your handsets Menu >Settings >Settings updates > HTC software update and click Check Now.
