iPhone 6 Q4 release reported

#

We’ve long heard rumors that the Apple iPhone 6 could come in two sizes, one with a 4.7-inch display to come first, followed by a second model with a 5.5-inch display. As far as release dates go, a fall release has seemed more likely, although it has also been rumored that at least one model will release in summer. Now an iPhone 6 Q4 release is being reported by overseas sources.

Japanese publication EMSOne citing a Taiwan report says that Apple is to begin mass production of the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 in July, with production of the 5.5-inch version starting in September. However, although the smaller of the two is set for production in the summer, the same source says that both sizes of the iPhone 6 will ship in Q4 this year.

It has to be said that at this stage we feel it’s rather too early to take this claim too seriously, although of course the report could be accurate. Over the next few weeks and months we are likely to hear varying claims of launches and release dates for the iPhone 6, so we’ll file this in the ‘unconfirmed’ category for now.

While we wait for more concrete news on the next premium iPhone you may be interested in looking at a concept of the handset that we shared earlier today. Are you hoping that at least one iPhone 6 releases before Q4?
