HTC A11 will be a Desire variant with 64-Bit Snapdragon 410

There are more Desire variants than you can shake a stick at, and if a new leak is true, we’re about to add another to the list. The device is known as the HTC A11, and it’s said to have the Snapdragon 410 under the hood.

If a Snapdragon 410 Desire doesn’t sound all that exciting, you’ll want to take into account that the 410 is a 64-bit chip. It will obviously be a step up from the standard Snapdragon 400 that comes in all the mid-ranges these days, and is supposed to require less power while being more powerful than its predecessor. That said, the HTC A11 is still a midrange handset if the leak pans out.

Twitter leaker, @upleaks says the HTC A11 will have a 4.7-inch display sporting a resolution of 854 x 480. Beneath the screen, you’ll find that 64-bit MSM8916 SoC, but there’s been no word on the memory or internal storage. The handset will have a 5MP rear camera and VGA front-facing snapper to go along with Android KitKat 4.4.2 with Sense 6.0 slathered on top.

The Snapdragon 410 could be the go-to chip for mid-range handsets in the future, and it would be a welcome change from the overused 400 that’s in every budget device under the sun. It remains to be seen when we will see the HTC A11 or what its final name will be, but we have a feeling we’ll be hearing more about the handset soon.

Are you excited to see a new 64-bit SoC come to budget handsets?
