Oppo A33 goes official on specs and price

#

We’re always on the lookout for new smartphones wherever they may launch in the world. In September we reported on the Oppo A33 smartphone that had just received certification from TENAA in China. Now the Oppo A33 has gone official on specs and price. Although it’s difficult to get too excited by its specifications, it’s described as having a solid build quality and some nice styling.

The Oppo A33 has just launched in China and has a price of CNY 1,499. That equates to around $235, £155, €220, or Rs. 15,500. Pricing can vary according to market but that makes it much more than the previously rumored equivalent price of around $125, with specs lower than many similarly priced handsets.

Oppo A33 specifications include a 1.2GHz Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor, and 5-inch display with resolution of 960 x 540. It has 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, and 5-megapixel front-facing snapper. Juice is supplied by a 2400 mAh battery, and it runs the Android 5.1 Lollipop-based ColorOS 2.1.

Connectivity options for the phone include 4G LTE, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS/A-GPS, and microUSB 2.0. Those specs tie in pretty much with the earlier TENAA listing, although the RAM has increased from 1GB to 2GB. The dual SIM handset measures 142.7mm x 71.7mm x 7.5mm and weighs 146g. It’s offered in a choice of black or white colors and has a metallic frame with glass on the front and back of the device.

So far the Oppo A33 is only on sale in China where it appears to be out of stock at the time of writing. Could you be tempted by this phone because of its looks, even though the specs are not great for its price tag? Let us know by sending in your comments, as we’re always interested to hear from readers.
