Mega Man Mobile games arrive on Google Play for $1.99

#

We knew they were coming for a while and today the Mega Man Mobile games have arrived. Capcom dropped all six games in the middle of CES, and there could be a good reason they don’t want to draw too much attention.

As we previously reported, the Mega Man Mobile games looked like a hot mess. That’s putting it mildly as they look like we hoped they wouldn’t. As a hardcore fan, I couldn’t resist a quick dip into the depths of madness with this one. That and I really had to see if it was as bad as it looked. Thankfully, it’s not quite as bad as I initially thought, so here’s what you can expect from Mega Man mobile.

If you were worried about the game speed in Mega Man Mobile, it’s not that bad but can feel off at certain times. Capcom popped in a couple of modes with normal and high speed with the latter feeling closer to the classic in my opinion. That said, it plays about like you’d expect from a platformer ported over to mobiles, which will be a drag for some folks. The same can be said for those wide blue bars on either side and the controls buttons. Those are necessary to a degree, but could have been handled a bit better from a design standpoint.

Mega Man Mobile isn’t quite as bad as I had feared it would be, but it’s not exactly a winner either. I went with Mega Man 5 Mobile and was able to get to a few bosses without too much hassle from the controls or speed. In a nutshell, if you are a fan it’s worth a download to see what you think… it is Mega Man after all. There is also the old refund button if you don’t dig it and there are six games to choose from.
