Microsoft will upstage Apple 3G iPhone with Blu-ray Xbox 360 apparently

Sorry about all the news today covering mainly the Apple 3G iPhone, but this is what our readers are wanting, the latest news in is that Microsoft is planning on upstaging the Apple 3G iPhone today at the massive WWDC event today.

The rumours of this big announcement will steal the thunder from the Apple iPhone version 2.0; well that is the plan anyway. I know we are all about mobile phones and phone news but we thought you should know that someone is trying to steal the limelight away from the 3G iPhone, sources below this post reveals that Microsoft are announcing the much-rumoured Blu-ray-enabled Xbox 360 today.

The source says: “I’ve got a close friend who works at Microsoft, previously with the HD-DVD division and now in the E&D division (Xbox, Zune)”. “I’m told MS will upstage Apple with a Monday 9am PDT announcement (1 hour before WWDC) via press release that the Xbox 360 will get Blu-Ray before Christmas. Price was ‘under the current Elite’, but I could get any more details.”

A letter did however come from Microsoft’s Windows Mobile division rallying partners suggests that the company themselves were not planning any kind of news to upset/spoil the Apple 3G iPhone announcement. What we want to know is “Is there really going to be an Xbox 360 with a Blu-ray drive and if they are trying to upstage Apple who will win the day?
