App Store rakes in cool $30 million for Apple

Word has come from the Apple camp that the Apple App Store is doing quite well revenue wise apparently. Word from the App Store camp is iPhone users have downloaded some 60 million programs for the iconic iPhone which equates to a nice heartwarming $30 million since the App Store launched last month.

The man from Apple, Steve Jobs says: “The thing’s going to crest a half billion soon. I’ve never seen anything like this in my career for software.”

Jobs also went on to say that mobile phone differentiation is no longer all about antennas and radios or even battery life; it’s all about the software. Jobs also confirmed the iPhone application “kill switch” in the event Apple somehow approves a malicious program for distribution.

Jobs stated: “Hopefully we never have to pull that lever, but we would be irresponsible not to have a lever like that to pull.”

One wonders just who looks after this “kill switch” as they sure missed out on vetting the “I Am Rich” application didn’t they.
