The word is out that developers have found images within the iPhone 3.0 SDK which have the label “iPhone 2.1” attached, which is presumed to be the new iPhone 2009.

However, according to a report on pcworld

, said new iPhone images doesn’t appear to be anything noteworthy, and if these images are accurate the new iPhone will look virtually the same as the present iPhone 3G.

There have been rumours that the new iPhone

will dump the metal surround but according to the images the metal surround is still there. Also the iPhone dimensions remain the same as the 3G, so not much change in the overall design which is a little disappointing.
