Apple kicks out iPhone Congress Directory app due to Pelosi Caricature

Apparently a Hollywood filmmaker came up with an app for the iPhone which is a telephone directory listing for every United States congressman and senator along with caricatures which were drawn by an artist, and it appears Apple doesn’t approve and has stated that the cartoon rendition of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is in part the reason they kicked it out reports fox news.

Ray Griggs, the filmmaker has said he received a rejection from Apple calling the caricatures “objectionable,” and has also said he received several emails that suggest that Apple stock that is owned by Pelosi’s husband may have played a key factor in the rejection.

When questioned about the iPhone application, Drew Hammill, a spokesman for Pelosi said that this was the first he’d every heard of it and thus declined to comment any further. And as usual when contacting Apple on the subject they didn’t comment.

The iPhone application features characterisations of all Democrats, Republicans and Independent members of Congress drawn by freelance artist Tom Richmond who has also drawn for Mad Magazine and the heads of the caricatures wobble when on the iPhone.
