Apparently Orange has announced they are to be the first company to roll out High Definition Voice services to their customers this year, reports an article over on itproportal. The HD Voice service will deliver high voice quality on mobile phones which incorporate a dedicated HD Voice feature.

Orange has stated they have been working closely with “leading mobile phone manufacturers,” with an aim to develop HD Voice enabled devices which will see launch in 2010, and has stated that service trials will begin early 2010 followed by a nationwide launch sometime later in 2010.

Orange has also claimed that the new HD Voice service will make callers “feel as if they are in the same room as the person whom they are talking too.”

The HD Voice service will work on a higher bandwidth of 500 to700 Hz rather than the 300 to 500 Hz which was originally offered. The CEO of Orange UK, Tom Alexander has said they are proud to be leading the mobile industry into the next decade with the announcement of a new standard in voice innovation.
