MicroSD Memory Doubled to 32GB by Samsung

Looks like old Sammy has managed to extend the capacity of microSD cards by doubling the existing 16GB capacity to 32GB, and the new microSD cards use 30-nm class 32GB NAND flash memory, reports an article over on the boy genius report

The new Samsung microSD cards are just one millimetre thick and point seven millimetres tall and apparently are currently being sampled by OEMs.

Exec VP of memory marketing for Samsung Electronics has said the “high-density memory solutions bring the storage capacity of computing systems to small mobile devices.”

Word has it Samsung will begin mass production of these new 32GB microSD cards sometime in February , but so far hasn’t announced how much they will command price wise, but no doubt like most things they’ll start off high and come down in price over time.
