Sprint HTC EVO 4G Review, Specifications and Questions

The new Sprint HTC EVO 4G is the hot topic at the moment in the world of smartphone news, and many consumers including our readers would love many questions answered.

This is a smartphone that will take the mobile market by storm and with many features including running on the 4G network of sprint we will see stunning speeds, the design of the handset looks awesome as well.

A 4G mobile device with Android OS with similar specs to the HTC HD2 will win the hearts of millions, there are assumptions that the HTC EVO 4G will indeed beat the Apple iPhone, we have talked about this mobile phone many times including specifications and videos, and trust us we will talk about it a lot more especially about the release date and price.

When it comes to the specifications and features this handset includes a 4.3-inch touchscreen display, Android 2.1 OS, Wi-Fi compatible, runs on both 4G and 3G network, Bluetooth, GPS navigation, Digital compass, HDMI port, Mobile HD enabled, 8-megapixel camera and a 1.3-megapixel camera on the front, Google offerings like maps/search/gmail etc, social networking features include Facebook integration and many more, plus much more features, please check out the full specifications.

No one yet knows what the price will be, but you can expect it to be around $800 USD if not more. When it comes to the release date, all we know is what Sprint’s website says and that is Summer 2010 release, you can be notified when this phone will be out by filling out a little form.

We also know that you will be able to purchase the HTC EVO 4G via Sprint channels and other partners such as Radio Shack, Best Buy and Walmart.

Can anyone give answers to these questions?

  • What is the exact HTC EVO 4G release date?
  • How much will the HTC EVO 4G cost?
  • What makes this smartphone better than the Apple iPhone?

We will have many more questions until this handset is released, once it is released we will probably ask many questions about its functions, stability, hardware, software and so much more. Stay tuned, as we will have so much more for you.

pfft! where do you get 800.00 USD? It will most likely be $200.00- $250.00 USD for (new customers/ upgrade price).

The rumor is the phone will be available ‘before’ June 6th. Another article I have read corroborates that rumor and says the phone would be available on June 4th.

    Complete and utter speculation.

What is the exact HTC EVO 4G release date? June 29, 2010 exactly three years after iPhone released. It would seem appropriate that the iPhone’s death begins the same day it was born. and it’s a tuesday

    * How much will the HTC EVO 4G cost? $599. Probably $249-$299 with two year agreement. It’s high but Sprint is always high. Here’s another good question. The EVO is an 8way wifi hotspot, what is the premium for 4G service? Sprint’s crappy 3G data service (required with my current HTC) is maybe 20% lower than AT&Ts iPhone. Will it go up? Will Sprint try to bundle it with a 4g enabled router for the home? No way 4G is as cheap as crappy 3G service.

    * What makes this smartphone better than the Apple iPhone? Alot of things, but the potential to run about a million flash apps kind of make the app store seem like small potatoes. I keep hearing that the iPhone has 100k+ apps. Big deal most of them suck. Glorified bookmarks or pure novelty. Ultimately, iPhone will be a victim of it’s own closed policies.

According to the Sprint sales guy I spoke with (we all know how much these guys really know), they’re coordinating the release of this phone with whenever the next iPhone gets released. He also said that the same rate plans would apply for 4G (no increase). We’ll see.

  4. LEG says:

They really need to market the EVO correctly. Remember the DROID. in a world where one cant DROID does” and we all know how that turned out. Not saying its a bad phone, but after trying one for a while, IMO dont think it lives up to the hype. but it did some good sales. So if they market the EVO right and emphasize on the HD recording, QIK, HDMI output, 8 megapixel camera, possible conference video with 1.3 front camera, 4g, Android 2.1 OS, homescreen pinch to zoom (awsome) friendstream, and so on, it WILL make a big dent in the market. Also the HD2 had TWO commercials. Watch movies on the RIDICULOUSLY large screen….. THATS IT! WTF! HD2 has some nice features. I hope sprint doesnt do what Tmobile did with the best phone theyve had so far.

  5. Informed says:

@Joshua, Sprint does not sell unlocked devices, you’re thinking of GSM devices. The EVO is CDMA, EVDO, WIMAX. The $800 speculation is way off base, $599 off contract is more inline with Sprint.

  6. someone not dumb says:

this website is obviously run by monkeys.. 800 before contract? are you guys that stupid? the incredible is 529 and the htc hd2 was 499.. so yeah 800 retards get new jobs.
