HTC may release own OS in the future

HTC are apparently considering the release of their own operating system in the future. They are mulling over the possibility of designing and launching its very own operating system according to a company executive.

Cheng Hui-ming the manufacturer’s chief financial offer has revealed that the company is in the process of deciding whether a move like this would make for a good business decision.

Hui-ming said “we continue to assess, but that requires a few conditions to justify, the current business model works fine”. The Taiwan based HTC has manufactured some very popular handsets including the HTC Desire which has just recently been released in the UK by both T Mobile and Vodafone.

There is also a rumour floating about out there that a purchase of rival manufacturer Palm would give the company control over the WebOS platform. The company however refused to give any inclination as to whether they are planning on making a bid to acquire Palm.
