UK Gains Palm Pre 2 Come Friday

You probably know that the Palm Pre 2 is already available over in France, and apparently the latest device out of the joint Palm/HP camp will be crossing the channel and making its way onto UK soil in a few days time.

According to an article over on Engadget by Sean Hollister, the guys over at Pocket-lint are confirming that HP has told them the Palm Pre 2 will hit the UK as of Friday the 12th of November.

However, not only will the HP webOS 2.0 OS, 1GHz processor, and 5 megapixel camera packing Palm Pre 2 be finding its way onto UK shelves but the device will not be tied to a specific carrier but rather be offered as a SIM free smartphone.

One does have to wonder though if the new updated HP Palm Pre 2 can do any better that the original Palm Pre or the Palm Pre Plus, personally I don’t think it will, but you never know. Are any of our UK readers looking to snap up the Palm Pre 2 when it hits UK shores?

As it happens I love the Palm Pre, I have an original Palm Pre which I have used very happily until this morning when I managed to stand on it and crack the screen! It is good news to me that the timing conveniently allows me to upgrade to the Palm Pre 2.
