Android Activations Visualised on Video

It’s not very often you get to really see just how well a mobile platform is growing in the mobile space, it’s usually done by charts and graphs followed by the usual rants and arguments that its wrong, so it would make a refreshing change to see what the growth of Android looks like.

So that’s what we have for your viewing pleasure below, video footage giving a visual representation of global Android activations from October 08 through to January 2011, and comes our way courtesy of Engadget and by way of Android Central and the Android Developers YouTube Page.

The almost three and a half minute video footage offers a visual insight into the expansion of the Android platform from the release of the first Android smartphone, and apparently shows spikes when devices such as the Motorola Droid was released in the US.

For those who doubt the rise of Android this is a visual reminder that the operating system is getting bigger, now all we could do with is one for iOS so we could make a comparison.

Anyway, head on down, mash that play button, and checkout the global rise of Android…enjoy
