RIM BlackBerry PlayBook April Release Date Revealed

Up until now the release date for the new Research In Motion tablet, the BlackBerry PlayBook hasn’t been revealed; however those waiting to get their hands on the tablet device may not have all that long to wait.

According to an article over on the Boy Genius Report, multiple sources of the unnamed variety, so should for now be treated as speculation, have said that the first BlackBerry tablet device from the Research In Motion camp will see release in retail locations on the 10th of April.

Apparently also the BlackBerry PlayBook operating system will turn gold master on the last day of March and once users boot up their BlackBerry PlayBook they will see a prompt to upgrade to the latest OS version.

Of course it goes without saying that this hasn’t been confirmed yet by RIM, but if true potential PlayBook owners could have their hands on the device before too long as long as there are no launch delays of course as most tech gear seems to be having these days.

Will you be rushing to pick up the BlackBerry PlayBook on the 10th of April?

RIM is making a huge mistake having delayed the release of the Playbook … poor marketing! Bravo to Jobs and Apple for stealing RIM's thunder by launching one month earlier. The iPad2 is not even the best spec'd of the new tablets but will blow away all other tablets in sales due Apple's superior marketing/ available software/ design/ etc. I do feel however, the 7 inch form factor is ideal for tablets.
