iPhone 4 Accessories: LifeProof Case Tested to Military Specs

If you are one of the iOS faithful out there of which there are many, and own the iPhone 4, obviously you will want to keep your beloved smartphone in pristine condition protected against the elements, and so may possibly at some point consider purchasing an iPhone 4 case, so we have one for your consideration below.

The LifeProof case for the iPhone 4 is brought to our attention by the guys over at Ubergizmo, and the new LifeProof case for the iOS smartphone has been tested to military specifications MIL-STD-810F-516.5 for drops onto concrete of 6.6 feet.

The LifeProof case for the iPhone 4 is also waterproof for up to 6.6 feet, just in case you accidentally drop your iPhone 4 in the bath or perhaps forget to take your iPhone out of your pocket when swimming so at least you’ll know the handset is still protected.

The iPhone 4 LifeProof case also protected your beloved handset from the likes of dust, dirt and even snow just in case you happen to be snowboarding and drop the handset.

Design wise the LifeProof case adds just 1.5mm to the bulk of your handset and weighs in at just 28 grams so is quite a pocket friendly iPhone accessory and is apparently made from a unique combination of materials so it doesn’t stick to your pocket.

The LifeProof case for the iPhone 4 is compatible with AT&T, Verizon, and international models and comes in a choice of three colours, black, white or pink and commands a reasonable price tag to keep your iPhone 4 safe from harm at $69.95 a pop with an estimated shipping time of two to three weeks.

And just so you can check out what the LifeProof case for the iPhone 4 is all about we have some video footage of the LifeProof case in action for your viewing pleasure below where a guy takes his LifeProof protected iPhone 4 snorkelling to depths of ten feet.

You’ll also find a video of the LifeProof case for the iPhone 4 being put to the snow test where the case protected handset is pelted with snowballs and throw approximately fifty yards into the snow, so feel free to check those out before making up your mind whether or not to purchase the case…enjoy.

Be warned guys, you will probably have to pay £25 to HM customs as I have just done:( on top of the shipping costs. Total cost for life proof, about £90 !!!

The Lifeproof case is seriously flawed!!

Due to it being dust, water, etc, etc proof, the phone generates heat
within the case which in turn creates static. So everytime you open the
case via the charge port to charge your phone, dust gets zapped directly
into the case due to the static build up inside. The static could also
be caused by the material the case is made out of.

Has anyone else had this issue with there case? Ant similar feedback or other would be fantastic.

    Thanks in advance.

Thanks Paul.  I was wondering what the crack was with UK customs.  I e-mailed the company with that question and they haven’t even bothered to reply.  The case itself looks great, but I must say the customer service is already leaving a lot to be desired and I’m worried that if anything was defective with the case I guess that Lifeproof would try yo make me liable for postage etc back and fro for them.  Also the 1 year warranty only apparently covers the case…..so if the case fails and your iphone is damaged, they’re not interested in compensating for the loss of the iphone!  May as well pay the extortionate monthly insurance on that reckoning!
