BlackBerry Torch 9860 UK Release Delayed

The BlackBerry faithful in the United Kingdom who have been awaiting the release of the BlackBerry Torch 9860 in the UK and were expecting the RIM smartphone to become available before the end of this month are in for a bit of a disappointment, as the latest word is the BlackBerry Torch 9860 UK release has been delayed.

According to the guys over on Softpedia by way of Clove, Research IN Motion has decided to shift the goal post for the release of the BlackBerry OS 7 smartphone on UK shores and thus the new release date will be the 3rd of October.

The BlackBerry Torch 9860 has been available for pre-order for a while in the UK but those that have order the handset will also be patient and have to wait a little bit longer before being able to hold the new BlackBerry in their hands.

Spec reminder for the BlackBerry Torch 9860 although I’m sure anyone who is after the device knows already, the Torch 9860 offers a slide out QWERTY keyboard, but ups the ante when it comes to processor, and sports a 1.2 GHz CPU, along with a 3.25-inch touch screen, 5 megapixel auto-focus camera with LED flash and 720p video, 8GB of internal storage with microSD expansion up to 32GB, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, 3.5mm jack and of course the newest BlackBerry operating system BlackBerry OS 7.

Originally the release of the BlackBerry Torch 9860 in the UK was the 26th of this month then was brought forward to the 19th and that didn’t happen so for whatever reasons RIM has now moved the release date to the 3rd of October unless of course once that hits they delay yet again, no word on why RIM is delaying though.
