Android Ice Cream Sandwich update Samsung shortlist

If you are one of the android faithful no doubt you will be hoping your chosen device gets updated to the latest and greatest Android operating system, Android 4.0 otherwise known as Android Ice Cream Sandwich, and if you own a Samsung device you can now check whether your device is on Sammy’s shortlist for the OS update.

According to the guys over at Ubergizmo by way of Careace, the Samsung shortlist for the Android Ice cream Sandwich update consists mostly of tablets as Android 4.0 bridges the gap between smartphone and Tablet OS, but there is one/two smartphones included in that shortlist.

So here’s the devices Samsung is currently considering delivering the Ice Cream Sandwich update to first, heading the list is the Samsung Galaxy S II followed by the Samsung Galaxy Note, then its all tablets from then on…

The tablets are the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 despite having injunctions against it in numerous places across the globe, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 and the new Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus.

It would appear that the original Samsung Galaxy S I9000 wont be getting updated to ICS, something I’m personally disappointed in, along with no mention of the Samsung Nexus S, but apparently this ICS Samsung shortlist isn’t actually official so basically anything could change.

Not too sure why older Samsung smartphone that currently run Android 2.3 Gingerbread shouldn’t see the Ice Cream Sandwich update at some point in the future, but here’s hoping they do, otherwise I may be forced to upgrade ahead of schedule.

VERY VERY VERY disappointed in Samsung, I can’t understand how the Galaxy S I9000 isn’t getting the 4.0 update. It has the compatibility to run it! This is urged me to move from Samsung to something more reliable and realistic like HTC.
