Barnes & Noble announce Nook Color v1.4.1 update

For owners of the Barnes and Noble Nook Color Android slate, B&N have now released a software update for the Nook Color bringing it to version 1.4.1 and apparently the new update delivers over one hundred feature enhancements to the Android tablet so the update is well worth grabbing.

According to the guys over at Ubergizmo, the B&N Nook Color software update brings such enhancements as more popular applications, access to top music and video services, enhanced shop experience, redesigned Nook Store, and Nook Comics.

The Barnes and Noble v1.4.1 update also delivers improvements to the users reading experience enabling the user to now read in portrait and landscape along with extra font sizes to choose from.

Owners of the Barnes and Noble Nook Color tablet can manually download the v1.4.1 update to their device as of right now by hitting up the Barnes & Noble downloads page.

However if you think manually downloading the update is a tad daunting you’ll be pleased to hear that B&N will be pushing update v1.4.1 to your Nook Color over the air sometime this week, so you could simply sit back and just wait for it to arrive.

Of course once you receive that software update we’d love you to share what new stuff you discover with your Nook Color by dropping us a line to our comments area below, and of course feel free to mention any problems if you experience any with the new update.

Unfortunately, one of the bugs of this new update is that it de-registered my Nook Color from Adobe Digital Editions (ADE) and I had to authorize it once again.  Additionally, all of the material from ADE had to be downloaded again to the device, as it didn’t recognize prior authorization to read files.
