BlackBerry OS 7.1 unveils mobile hotspot support: Unofficial

If you own a BlackBerry smartphone running BlackBerry 7 OS and don’t mind the odd unofficial operating system leak and would like a little unofficial mobile hotspot support for your handset you might like to know that there’s a leaked version of BlackBerry OS 7.1 available to grab.

According to the guys over at The Verge by way of OSBB, it appears that mobile hotspot support if finally hitting RIM’s aging platform with a leaked version of BlackBerry OS 7.1 for the BlackBerry Torch 9810 hitting the net waves.

The leaked version is actually v7.1.0.74 for the BlackBerry Torch 9810, and the inclusion of mobile hotspot support could suggest that we will be seeing mobile hotspot functionality included in Research IN Motion’s newest operating system, BlackBerry 10 once it comes out to play.

But if you simple can’t wait for that to happen and wish to take advantage of this unofficial version of BlackBerry 7.1 OS you can download all the necessary by hitting up OSBB, and as always this leaked version comes with the usual disclaimer.

According to the guys you should note that the installer is a hacked together unofficial version, which updates the BlackBerry OS 7.0.0.540 ROM with BlackBerry 7.1 OS features so all caution would be prudent.
