Super-thin Android phone aka Medias ES N-05D

Looks like there’s another super-thin Android based smartphone on its way from NEC for Japan and will be offered by the countries largest carrier NTT DoCoMo, and the new handset is known as the Medias ES N-05D, which word has it is to release sometime in February or March and sports a few impressive specifications.

According to the guys over at Tech Crunch by way of ITmedia, there have been a few Medias branded Android handsets from NEC recently but the Medias ES N-05D’s claim to fame is that the smartphone is only 6.7mm in thickness.

Spec wise the Medias ES N-05D sports a 4.3-inch LCD 1280 x 720 display along with an 8.1 megapixel CMOS camera and Exmor R mobile engine, 1.5GHz MSM8260 dual core processor, Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi, NFC, digital TV tuner, 4GB internal memory, 1GB of RAM, microUSB slot, and a microSD card slot.

The Medias ES N-05D runs Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread, has a waterproof body, a 1400mAh battery, measures 130 x 67 x 6.7mm with a weight of 110 grams and features connectivity to the Casio G-Shock GB-6900 watch, and will be available in pink, white, and black.

And hat’s your lot on the Medias ES N-05D (wish someone would give it a better moniker) no word on any pricing for the Android handset although the word is the Medias ES N-05D may possibly see the light of day outside Japan at some point in the future but NEC hasn’t confirmed this.
