RedSn0w jailbreak update, but not for iOS 5.1

If you are into the jailbreaking scene it appears that the RedSn0w jailbreak has now been updated, which brings the jailbreak software up to version 0.9.10b6b, and is for addrerssing certain problems users have been experiencing using RedSn0w on Mac OS X machines, but apparently does not deliver any jailbreak support for iOS 5.1 devices.

According to the guys over at iDownload Blog the iPhone Dev Team have released the RedSn0w update and had been released to fix an issue for people running OS X 10.5x or previous.

However, unfortunately the released update of RedSn0w doesn’t bring any new functionality, and as such owners of A5 devices on iOS 5.1 continue to be without a jailbreak, whilst A4 owners are still limited to a tethered jailbreak.

However, if you are having issues with RedSn0w on your Mac OS X computer, it might pay to download the update.

It appears that users running iOS 5.1 are still hoping that hacker i0n1c will release his untethered jailbreak for iOS devices at some point, or that pod2g manages to work out his solution eventially according to the reader comments on the website, but for now at least there still appears to be no jailbreak solution for the iPhone unfaithful running iOS 5.1.
