iPhone Siri takes on Samsung S Voice in comparison video

Obviously with Samsung’s latest and greatest ICS smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy S3 the handsets features will get compared to that of its rival the iPhone 4S, and what we have for your viewing consideration below is a comparison battle between the two handset maker’s voice assistants.

The Siri voice assistant versus the Samsung S Voice assistant comparison video comes our way courtesy of the guys over at Daily Mobile and by way of Technobuffalo, with Technobuffalo’s Jon Rettinger pitting Siri against S Voice in a five minute comparison battle.

Siri is of course the voice assistant feature that has basically made the iPhone 4S so popular, and I’m sure the Android faithful knows that old Sammy delivered a their challenger to Siri with their very own voice assistant called S Voice, but how well can S Voice stand up to Siri?

Well Jon reckons S Voice does what exactly what one would expect such as when you talk to S Voice it responds in the best way it can, although Jon says that when asking the same questions to both S Voice and Siri, the Samsung Galaxy S3 version is ‘agonisingly slow’ whilst both being connected to the same WiFi network.

On watching the video footage, I do have to agree with Jon, that S Voice does seem to take an eternity to deliver the answer, which means that it would appear that Apple wins over Samsung when it comes to voice assistants, and even simple maths the SGS3 was still slower than the iPhone.

Anyway all you need do now is head on down and hit that play button to check out the voice assistant comparison for yourself…enjoy.

  1. Voice control is not a factor in my decision to purchase a mobile phone how ever… In my opinion… in this test… Siri beats the S3 hands down. There are other functions of the galaxy phone which puts it ahead in terms of usefulness for me than the iphone 4s. But as far as voice activation. There’s much room for improvement to make it as seamless as the Siri experience.
