Samsung Galaxy S5 launched and priced for India

#

While the handset was officially launched to the world back in February the Samsung Galaxy S5 has now been launched and priced for consumers in India and we have the details for you.

Samsung has been staging an event in the country and have confirmed that the Galaxy S5 in India will be powered by an Octa core Exynos processor. The exact model is the Exynos 5422 which was unveiled last month by the company, and features four low power Cortex A7 cores running at a clock speed of 1.5GHz along with four new high performance Cortex A15 cores at 2.1GHz.

The processor uses Heterogeneous Multi Processing that allows the chip to run all eight cores at the same time, and the handset will be available in black, white, blue, and gold colour options. The handset will be priced between Rs. 51,000 and Rs. 53,000 according to the company, which fits in with rumours we heard yesterday although a final price has yet to be revealed.

Pre-orders will begin on March 29th with a release coming on April 11th like the rest of the world.
