Gionee launches Four New Smartphones for India

#

Gionee recently held an event where they have unveiled not one, but four new Android KitKat 4.4 smartphones for India. It’s a mixed bag, but we’re going to give you the skinny on all four of the new Gionee handsets.

First up, are the mid-range Gionee P4S and Gionee P6 smartphones. Both handsets contain a 1.3GHz quad-core chip, 1GB of RAM and 8GB of expandable storage. They have a 5MP/2MP camera combo, and the P6 has a 1,950mAh battery while P4S has a smaller 1,800mAh juice box. As the battery size implies, the Gionee P6 will have a 5-inch 854 x 480 display and the P4S has a smaller 4.5-inch FWVGA screen. The Gionee P4S also sports a windowed flip cover.

On the other side of the spectrum, we have the Gionee V6L LTE and P5L LTE. The draw of these handsets is the fact that they offer up affordable 4G LTE although the specs largely remain the same. The Gionee P5L has a 4.7-inch display with a resolution of 854 x 480 and you can expand the memory up to 128GB instead of the 32GB offered by the P4S and P6. The rest of the specs remain the same.

Last but not least, is the Gionee V6L and it’s the best of the bunch. The V6L has LTE and is a 5-inch handset with an HD display. Under the hood, you’ll find a Snapdragon 400 clocked at 1.2GHz, 1GB of RAM and 8GB of expandable storage. It has an 8MP rear camera, 5MP front-facing camera, and a is powered by a 2,000mAh battery. It’s also relatively slim at 6.9mm.

Pricing hasn’t been announced for the Gionee P4S or the Gionee P6, but it will be cheaper than the two LTE handsets. The Gionee V6L price in India is Rs. 15,000 and the P5L will sell for Rs. 10,000. All four will run KitKat out of the box, and the company said all their handsets over Rs. 10,000 will be LTE compatible starting next year.
