The Otium Gear Smartwatch shows up on Amazon for $83

#

Otium is a new brand based out of China, and we’ve touched on a couple of their interesting products in the past. A new one just showed up on Amazon a few days ago in the form of the Otium Gear Smartwatch, and it will only set you back $83 bucks.

We’ve seen several smartwatches clock in at under $100, but the Otium Gear is different as it claims to be a smartwatch packed to the gills with features. One of those features is GSM compatibility, which means it’s a wearable that doesn’t need to be tethered to a smartphone. That’s really just the tip of the iceberg for the Otium Gear though as we think you’ll be pleasantly surprised at the rest of its specs.

The Otium Gear sports a MTK6260 533MHz chip, and has 128MB of RAM to go along with 32GB of expandable memory. It takes a single Micro SIM card (not included), and connectivity options include 3G, Bluetooth 3.0, and micro USB. Some of the features/apps listed include a Bluetooth Dialer, Contacts, Anti-loss, gesture control, Microphone & Speaker, and camera. Last but not least is the display which is listed as a 1.5-inch TFT LCD with a resolution of 240 x 240. We’re unsure of what kind of software it uses, but it’s said to work with Android an iOS devices.

It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out which smartwatch the Otium Gear is modeled after, and we have to admit that it’s amazing they’ve managed to put all that together for $82.99. That is seriously cheap if you’re looking to try out your first smartwatch, and it’s not a bad looking wearable either. If you’re interested in picking up the Otium Gear, they are currently in stock directly from Otium on Amazon.
