Oppo U3 specs made official
It was evident that the Oppo U3 was on the way to being launched when it recently passed TENAA certification, and now we’re one step closer to a release. The Oppo U3 specs have been made official today and it’s a phablet device with a whopping 5.9-inch display.
Oppo hasn’t yet announced the U3 price or exactly when it will be available. However, the specs of the phone are interesting to take a look at. It’s powered by a 1.7GHz MediaTek 6752 64-bit octa-core processor, has a 5.9-inch display with resolution of 1920 x 1080, 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of internal storage (expandable). There’s a 3000 mAh battery with fast charging support, which can enable a 75% charge after just 30 minutes charging.
As far as the camera arrangement is concerned there’s a 13-megapixel rear camera and Sony IMX214 sensor with 1/3.06” diagonal, and using software trickery enables 50MP images. Further camera features include 120fps slo-mo video playback, night mode, and Ultimate Beauty 3.0. Despite rumors that the U3 would have 4x zoom lens, that hasn’t shown up, and instead you’ll find a fixed focal length lens. There’s also a 5-megapixel front-facing unit with wide-angle lens and LED flash for selfies.
Connectivity includes 3G, 4G LTE, and dual SIM with dual standby. The phablet will be running the Android 4.4.4 KitKat operating system with Color OS 2.0.1, and we shouldn’t forget the AK4961 audio chip. Dimensions of this smartphone are 156.8mm x 81mm x 8mm and it weighs in at 195g, which will sound pretty hefty to many of us. The Oppo U3 will be available in dark blue or white color options.
Oppo has also come up with a Rabbit’s Tail case suitable for the device, and this will enable a more secure hold. What are your first thoughts on the Oppu U3 phablet? Let us know by sending your comments.
