Huawei GX8 release comes to the US with a $350 price tag

#

Huawei smartphones have slowly started making their way into the hands of consumers in the states, and the Huawei GX8 release appears to be the next step in their plans for global domination. It can’t quite hang with the big boys when it comes to horsepower, but the $350 price tag is certainly going to gain them some new fans.

The Huawei GX8 is actually the same device we came to know as the Huawei G8, but with an extra letter in the moniker. The Huawei GX8 release for the states appears to be the same under the hood as well, which is a good thing. Especially, if you’ve been interested in trying out one of their devices but didn’t opt for the Nexus last year.

Metal is what you’ll get with the Huawei GX8 as it has an aluminum build and is fairly svelte at 7.5mm thin with a weight of 167grams. The sleek handset sports a 5.5-inch 1,920 x 1,080 display and is powered by a Snapdragon 615 and 2GB of RAM. You’ll get 16GB of internal storage to work with and there is a microSD card slot should you feel the need to expand.

The rear snapper on the Huawei GX8 is listed at 13MP with OIS while the front-facing lens clocks in at 5MP. Connectivity options include the usual suspects along with 4G LTE and a fingerprint scanner. The battery should provide plenty of power at 3,000mAh, but unlike it’s Nexus-branded sibling, you’ll get Android 5.1 out of the box with EMUI 3.1.

If you’re looking for an unlocked handset in the states and have been wanting to try something a little outside the norm, the Huawei GX8 release is something you’ll want to look into. The thin bezeled beauty is set to debut in the coming months for $349.99 through GetHuawei and Amazon in several different colors.
