T-Mobile addresses controversy while adding 14 new services to Binge On

#

T-Mob loves to shake things up and they’ve always gotten a kick out of throwing shade towards other carriers. Well, the tables have turned somewhat thanks to their throttled Binge On program, and today they addressed the issue while bolstering their free-streaming lineup.

Binge On was a huge deal when it was announced as it claimed to offer up unlimited video streaming through select services. Lost in the fine print was wording that let folks know that video would stream at 480p, which was a bit of a downer. Regardless of whether they are throttling or “optimizing” things on their network, the Electronic Frontier Foundation noticed, and hilarity did not ensue… well, it kind of did.The always outspoken John Legere has posted a video response to those throttling claims which you can see for yourself below.

On a positive note, Magenta has doubled down on Binge On and added a slew of new services to the program. Customers will now be able to stream PlayStation Vue, Tennis Channel Everywhere, FuboTV, Kidoodle TV, Curiosity Stream, Fandor, Newsy, ODK Media, Lifetime Movie Club, FYI, History, Lifetime and A&E. That puts the total number of providers well over 50 and you can bet the farm we’ll see more in the months ahead.

It remains to be seen how the Binge On saga will end, but no matter how you feel about T-Mobile’s optimizing practices, you will save some data if you roll with Magenta and use Binge On. Have you experienced any issues with T-Mobile’s Binge On program or does it suit your streaming needs?
