Vivo Unveils Xplay 6 Flagship Running on QSD 820

#

Vivo just called a press conference today in which they proudly announced their latest Xplay 6 flagship smartphone. I know what you’re probably thinking: oh well, just another cheap droid made by a quasi-obscure Chinese manufacturer, it’s probably loaded with spyware and it will leak my personal photos and SMS logs to the Communist Party.

To tell you the truth, you may be right in that regard (with the spyware), but the latest Xplay 6 is an interesting smartphone (and quite expensive) by any metrics. Just to give you a taste, this baby comes with a top-notch Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chip-set, 6 GB of RAM and a dual curved display. The QSD 820 is a quad core architecture as you may already know, working in tandem with an Adreno 530 GPU for delivering…well, everything. It doesn’t get much better than the 820, maybe some Exynos SoCs are able to smoke it, but we’re talking decent prices and high end specs here, not hefty Samsung-made IEDs.

So, getting back to our story, the Vivo Xplay 6 also has 128 GB of native storage capacity, a dual camera setup on the rear (a 16 MP snapper with OIS and a Sony IMX362 sensor plus a 5 MP unit for depth of field) and a respectable 16 MP front facing camera for high-res selfies and video calls. To keep the lights on and the party going, the Vivo Xplay 6 comes with a juicy 4080 mAh battery with fast charging technology. I didn’t intend it to rhyme, but there you have it folks.

Even with that huge laptop-sized battery, the Xplay 6 is incredibly thin, standing at 5.92 millimeters with regard to its thickness, which is amazing. The smartphone is expected to hit the shelves starting from December 12th  and the announced price tag for this little monster  is approximately $655, which is quite a lot for a new kid on the block like Vivo.
