Nokia 8 smartphone specs leak reveals 24MP camera

#

It looks like HMD is going to have a very busy year. They will have a successful one as well if the new Nokia 8 smartphone specs leak proves true. Their flagship may have just leaked ahead of a formal announcement, and we believe you’ll be quite pleased with that it will offer up.

The Nokia 6 got a lot of heat when it was first announced. We’ve seen a few other handset leaks from the line since then, but nothing on a Nokia flagship. It appears it may have been under our noses all along as the HMD Nokia 8 smartphone was apparently photographed at CES 2017. Yup, it had one of the new Snapdragon processors under the hood, and while Qualcomm asked for things to be kept quiet, that did not happen.

A video has emerged showing the Nokia 8 smartphone at CES, well two of them side-by-side. While it’s hard to make some things out, it does not have physical keys but will have amazing OIS as you can see in the video. That means you don’t have to have the steadiest of mitts to use the HMD Nokia 8 as the sensor can lend a hand. As for that sensor, the rear camera is rumored to use a 24MP sensor with OIS & EIS while the front-facing camera will be 12MP.

The Nokia 8 smartphone will also be available in a variant if today’s rumor proves true. There will be a version with a Snapdragon 821, 4GB of RAM and a dumbed down camera. The top model will sport the camera combo mentioned above along with a Snapdragon 835 and 6GB of RAM. The storage options are said to be either 64GB or 128GB but both will be expandable. No word on the build, but we assume it’s metal and will look similar to the Nokia 6.

If you have longed for those old Zeiss Nokia’s from back in the day, you may get your wish soon. We expect the HMD Nokia 8 to be just as popular as the Nokia 6 when it becomes official considering it will sit at the top of their food chain. We’re not sure when that will be, but expect to learn more soon as we don’t imagine the company keeping this one under wraps for too much longer.

Update – The device is believed to be a reference smartphone built for Qualcomm to show off their new chip, not the Nokia 8.
