The Huawei P8 Camera Phone Review

#

The Huawei P8 Camera Phone is the brand’s flagship device that delivers awesome features and performance for a cheaper price. You’ll find out more in detail as you go on and read our quick review of the Huawei P8.

Huawei is one of the top Android device vendors. They have started making waves in the mobile industry with the Mate 7. And since then, the company produced more high-quality devices that cater to premium users. I guess they don’t want distance themselves from the characteristics of Chinese-designed mobile phones. The P8 also addresses some of the major flaws of its previous phone releases.

Huawei P8 Camera Phone Design

Design-wise, the Huawei P8 is a top-notch contender. Thanks to its unibody build that feels both solid and is comfortable to hold onto. Honestly, I am struggling to find any major flaws with the device that would make me say that the P8 has some problems or hiccups when used on a daily basis. I do hope that its metal back and finish is more scratch proof than the Mate 7’s. Why? My test unit already exhibits a slew of battle scars on its smooth metal finish.  The 5.2″ screen is clear and the size seems manageable. It has a resolution of 1080P which does not try to compete in the resolution race. But then again, it is sufficient to display text and icons with excellent clarity.  The screen is ideal for multimedia and is great for displaying photos and videos with enough vibrancy.

Huawei P8 Camera Phone Software and Processor

The P8 runs Android Lollipop software with their usual Emotion UI interface. The Emotion UI changes everything from the color scheme, fonts, and the app icons. It also allows users to get rid of the app tray. What I don’t like about this latest skin is that there are no new interface tweaks or software add-ons to speak of. Yeah, it had some network optimization tweaks behind the scenes, but there are no other surprises here.  Still, you’ll find the same array of customization options as on other Huawei devices such as the preset themes. Huawei P8 Camera Phone is powered by a 64-bit Kirin 930 octa-core processor that’s clocked at 1.5GHz. It comes with 3GB of RAM which makes it a very capable piece of kit.

Huawei P8 Camera Phone Lenses

The Huawei P8 has two cameras: a 13MP on the back and a generous 8MP front facing camera.  Both cameras are made by Sony. It boasts with low-light shooting capabilities and some cool new shooting modes.  Pictures taken by the Huawei P8 look vibrant. The colors are good – it’s sharp and clear.  There’s a super night mode on this phone as well, where the results is as good as on automatic mode. Other salient features include the standard array of photo filters and panorama mode.

Huawei P8 Camera Phone Battery

The Huawei P8 Camera Phone has a 2,600mAh battery which is a generous size. The brand claims that you’ll easily get a day of use from it, if not more. In our drain test, which involves playing a video file from a full charge, until the battery runs out, it has managed to keep going for a little over 11 hours, which for us is a bit less than average.

Conclusion

If you are looking for the best, most technologically advanced smartphone around, then the P8 isn’t the one for you. We suggest that you go for the Galaxy S6 Edge. The P8 is a solid contender though. Thanks to its good camera, vibrant display, and an attractive all-metal body. It is a much more affordable option too, that doesn’t force you to compromise on features and performance.
