Lava X5 4G specs leak ahead of official announcement

#

The second batch of Android One smartphones are set to arrive soon, and we know Lava will produce one of them. The Lava X5 4G may be the device we’ve been waiting on as it’s just rolled through the benchmark listings ahead of its launch.

The Lava X5 4G specs show a handset that is a definite improvement over the company’s first Android One handset, the horribly named Spice Android One Dream UNO Mi-498. Lava’s moniker for what we assume is their second Android One handset rolls off the tongue a little easier, and the Lava X5 4G specs should satisfy their fans as well.

According to the GFXBench listing, the Lava X5 4G will sport a 4.6-inch display with a resolution of 1,280 x 720. Under the hood, you’ll find a quad-core MediaTek MT6735 clocked at 1.3GHz and backed by 2GB of RAM while the storage capacity is listed at 16GB. As for the cameras, they are listed at 12MP and 7MP, but we’re going to assume it’s actually 13MP and 8MP as these listings are always a little off in a few areas. Last but certainly not least is the OS which is Android 5.1.

While we don’t have official confirmation that the Lava X5 4G is the company’s new Android One handset, a report from earlier this month suggested it was coming to India on July 14th. If that’s the case, we’ll know more about this handset in less than 24 hours and we’ll be around to give you the scoop when it’s announced.

Do you think the Lava X5 4G is the new Android One smartphone and are you pleased with the specs?
