KOffice 2.1 Released and for Nokia N900

Six months after KOffice announced their platform 2.0.0 release, KOffice has now announced version 2.1.0 of the platform which delivers new features and general improvements in the maturity of the applications along with the importing of documents receiving an overhaul.

Despite only a limited developer group there has been a large quantity of improvements with KOffice 2.1.0 over 2.0 and the advantages of the clean and well structured codebase is beginning to show.

The OASIS OpenDocument Format (ODF) is the ISO standard for office document interchange and KOffice uses ODF as its native format and thus delivers interoperability with other Office packages such as OpenOffice and Microsoft Office.

Furthermore, KOffice has also announced that the new Maemo Linux smartphone from the Nokia stable, the Nokia N900 smartphone will use KOffice
