Sony Ericsson Vivaz hardware review and first impressions

The Sony Ericsson Vivaz S60 5th Edition smartphone gains quite an in-depth review today and delivers a review on the hardware along with the first impressions of the handset and a video as well, all reviewed by the guys over at all about symbian.

First off they state that the photos of the Sony Ericsson Vivaz do not do the smartphone justice and that the handset is actually smaller than one would think, and even smaller that the Nokia 5530 even though it sports a 3.2 inch screen.

The Sony Ericsson Vivaz sports what Sony Ericsson call ‘human curvature’, which basically means the handset have been curved to fit nicely in the hand, and the reviewer does say the Sony Ericsson Vivaz is the nicest smartphone in the world to hold.

As for hardware, the Sony Ericsson Vivaz sports power and profile buttons on its top, a 3.5mm audio/TV out jack, microUSB port with tethered plastic cover, a somewhat small speaker port, and for some reason a rather pointless tab which stick out, and there are 3 physical buttons, call, menu, and hang up.

The Sony Ericsson Vivaz uses vanilla S60 5th Edition OS, with no Symbian extras although Sony Ericsson does add a custom kinetic front end. Like I said the review is quite lengthy so you may like to hit up their link above to read it all, but make sure you come back and let us know what you think.

I have had the sony ericsson vivaz on contract for a few months now,and in that time the carphone warehouse have had 2 replace it twice and now the 3rd handset has broke! I am reurning it 2 the shop and will hopefully redieve another replacement as i am tied into a 24 month contract with a phone that doesnt work!!!!!! I would advise anyone lookin at buying one of these phones 2 seriously rethink xx

I bought sony Ericsson Vivas just two weeks ago and most of the time is hang on.
I sent it to the agent for repaire and they said just need updating and the did the updating for me. after three days from updating the hang on start again.
Realy it the worst phone of sony Ericsson and they should withdrow this phone from the market otherwise they will lost their reputation completly

i got this phone is june, now on my third its totally rubbish phone keeps freezing, touch screen have stopped working and the phone keeps turning itself off esp when i use the internet, its terrible!! the best part, vodafone say they cant do anything but repair it!! yeh coz i really want this phone again!! NOT!!!! paying a contract for a bloddy phone i cant use

Hate it worse phone I have ever had. Yet again had to send back for repair as the recharge socket came out of phone ,when I went to pick back up said they given me a re condition phone as couldn't fix my one . Well I now got to go back as this phone not working…Stay away from this phone . My daughter has the same phone and she too has had to send hers back twice and still not right.

This is the worst phone ever knowen to mankind i’v had it 5 months and am about to send it off tomorrow as the charge has come out the side and it dose not turn on and they will then send me my oh 4th handset. Brilliant (please note sarcasem). Not only are there hundereds of problems with this phone but my god that is no way an 8.1 megapixal camera i’v seen better pictures from a toy camera from the early learning center. If anyone tries to offer you this phone tell them where to go. Never ever ever EVER get this phone evan as a last resort really not worth the hassel.

I hate this phone the emergency call thing pisses me off and recently the ringtone keeps changing itself, like its still set as my own ringtone when you check but if someone calls its this asian ringtone that goes off, and when i try to delete that asian ringtone it doesnt work, theres no delete button for it… this was such a waste of money, i really wonder why sony would launch such a bad phone, don’t they check it before they launch it? it rips us off, its not funny because its not that easy to find money..
