Motorola’s Moto G released earlier this year while the LG L80 Dual recently became listed on the LG India website. Both are affordable Android smartphones that many buyers may be considering. To give you an idea of how they stand up against each other in terms of specs, we have a Motorola Moto G vs. LG L80 Dual showdown for India.

We’re looking at the LG L80 Dual, which is obviously a dual SIM device and the dual SIM version of the Moto G (both GSM + GSM). Pricing for these smartphones is not too far apart, so we’ll give you the key specs of each device so that you can see what they have to offer.

Processors
The Moto G is powered by 1.2GHz Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor and Adreno 305 graphics. The L80 Dual has a 1.2GHz Snapdragon 200 dual-core processor with Adreno 302 graphics.

Display
The Moto G has a 4.5-inch IPS LCD display with resolution of 1280 x 720 and 326 ppi. The L80 Dual has a 5-inch IPS LCD display with resolution of 800 x 480 and 187 ppi.

RAM and Storage
There’s 1GB of RAM and 8 or 16GB of internal storage (non-expandable) for the Moto G. The L80 Dual has 1GB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage, this time expandable via microSD to 32GB.

Camera set-up
The Moto G has a 5-megapixel rear camera with autofocus, LED flash and 720 video capture, as well as a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera. The L80 Dual has a 5-megapixel rear camera with autofocus, LED flash and video recording, and a 0.3-megapixel front-facing unit.

Battery
The Moto G has a non-removable 2070 mAh battery while the L80 Dual has a removable 2540 mAh battery.

Connectivity
Both phones support 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPRS, EDGE and microUSB 2.0.

Operating System
There’s another similarity here as both run Android 4.4.2 KitKat

Dimensions and Weight
The Moto G Dual SIM measures 129.9mm x 65.9mm x 11.6mm and weighs 143g. The LG L80 dual measures 138.2mm x 74.3mm x 9.7mm, but the weight has not yet been specified.

Price
At the time of launch the 8GB Moto G was priced at Rs. 12,999 and the 16GB version was priced at Rs. 14,999. The MRP price for the L80 Dual is Rs. 17,500. However, both handsets will be found cheaper depending on retailer.

We’re not concerned here with the many features of these phones or their individual designs, as this is very much a case of personal preference. From specs alone though we can see a few areas where they are similar but also some aspects that differentiate them.

For example the Moto G has a quad-core processor, higher resolution display, and more internal storage. On the other hand the L80 Dual has a larger display, expandable storage, and a higher capacity battery that’s also removable, so any decision between the two will come down to the factors most important to you.
