General Motors (GM) plans for OnStar: Smartphone App Integration

General Motors (GM) are moving ahead with the times and are hopefully going to plan big things with OnStar according to CNN Money, apparently new features will be added such as new functions that will make the service more usable by customers. They are relaunching this summer, but the partner is a mystery.

We are talking about app integration and tricks that will help vehicle owners check on their motor from far away, other features will include locking and unlocking doors and even starting the engine from a smartphone.

We mentioned quite a while back about Chevrolet and its MyCar app, which is similar and now it seems GM wants it on most of the auto makers products. It is not known yet who GM has partnered with as of yet but names such as Ford and Microsoft have already made ties with SYNC, we would love Apple to partner with GM but there are many other big names that would work wonders such as HTC, BlackBerry etc.

As soon as we hear more on the above news we will let you know, in the meantime please answer this simple question “Would you love the fact of opening, locking doors and starting you vehicle’s engine via a smartphone app?” please send us your comments below.

Is the Pope Catholic? Does a bear sh_t in the woods? Of course we'd like an app on Android devices to control and operate remote functions on our GM vehicles with On*Star!!!
