Large displayed Acer Iconia Smart, specs & price

You may remember back at last years Mobile World Congress, Acer unveiled its Iconia Smart. As part of the range it falls in the gap between tablets and smartphones, being more pushed to a large sized handset than a small sized slate. Whatever way you look at it, for a smartphone it certainly packs an impressive 4.8-inch display.

As IT Proportal reports, with such a large screen comes the benefits of a cinematic aspect ratio (21:9) with 1024×480 pixels. This screen expanse hasn’t been seen since 2009 with LG’s Chocolate BL40.

Packing an 8-megapixel camera outback with LED flash, and 2-megapixel upfront, the Iconia Smart takes advantage of its stretched display. Powered by Android 2.3 Gingerbread and a single core Qualcomm Snapdragon chip, the Smart manages 1GHz with 512MB of RAM and 8GB internal storage. Other functions come from microSD slot and Bluetooth along with WiFi and a 1500mAh battery.

Best of all Expansys is selling the Acer smartphone for £210, which makes it a bargain for those looking for a handset with more junk in its trunk. Do you long for a break from the norm when it comes to your next smartphone?
