BBM landing page for Android and iOS arrives

The BlackBerry Messenger Service is coming to Android and iPhone soon, but at this stage nobody knows exactly when. We’ve had several signs recently that the BBM release for those platforms is closer, but news today that the BBM landing page for Android and iOS has arrived is the most promising yet.

Our previous BBM posts have always generated plenty of comments from readers, and so we know that the Android and iOS apps are hugely anticipated. BlackBerry has promised the apps will be available by the end of the summer, and the sign-up page is now live and is another promising sign that the apps are still on target.

The general consensus is that BBM really should have gone cross-platform sooner as so many other messaging services have now got in on the action. It does look like the apps are near to launch now though. In recent days we’ve seen user guides accidentally posted, and further teasers from Samsung about the arrival of BBM for Android.

The most auspicious indicator yet that the release is now imminent comes in the form of the landing page where you can now sign-up to be one of the first to find out when BBM releases for Android and iOS. If you want to receive information you simply need to enter your email address.

BlackBerry is highly unlikely to have established this registration page if the apps were not going to become available very soon. If you have been waiting for BBM on iOS or Android and want to register to find out when the app is available, head to the BBM sign-up page here.

On the same page you’ll find much more information about BBM including getting to know the service, BBM video, BBM voice and more. This news today should please many people who have been patiently (or not so patiently) waiting for BBM to release for Android and iOS devices.

Are you eager to start using BBM for Android or iOS? Maybe you’ll be one of the first to head to the new BlackBerry landing page for the service? We’re always interested to hear from readers so we welcome your comments on the upcoming BBM apps.

I’ve singed up on that page last week already. A friend told me about it and he signed up long before me.
