Nokia X apps ported to other Android devices

#

With the launch of the Nokia X family of devices and  learning it would run Android (AOSP), it was just a matter of time before its apps were ported and now it looks like some of Nokia’s applications have been ported over to devices if you’re running Android 4.1.2 or higher. Most of them don’t require anything but a simple APK side loading install, BUT you will need to root for at least one of these. Here’s the list:

  • Nokia X Launcher  (root / custom recovery needed)
  • Nokia Email (no root): Very simple email client.
  • Nokia Music (no root ): One of the ugliest looking music players ever made, it looks like the stock 2.1 music player from years ago
  • Nokia File Explorer (no root): Super simple File Explorer that does have a few bugs.

That’s all for now folks. Nothing super exciting, but at least you can say you played with them.

What are your thoughts on Nokia doing the X range? and will Microsoft continue the range once they fully take over the Nokia phones division.
