Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Android Lollipop update could be soon

#

There’s been plenty of excitement about the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 phablet and also the upcoming Android operating system update that was confirmed last week as 5.0 Lollipop. The Galaxy Note 4 has only just released to some regions with more to follow, and launched on Android 4.4.4 KitKat. However, there’s now a hint that the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Android 5.0 Lollipop update could be soon.

The Nexus 6 and Nexus 9 will be the first devices to release running Android 5.0 out of the box and we know that Lollipop will start to roll out to other Nexus smartphones and tablets over the coming weeks. The update will then start to arrive for other devices and the whole process could take several months. However, Samsung has just issued a nice teaser that suggests Galaxy Note 4 owners won’t have too long to wait for the Lollipop update.

The company has tweeted an image of the Galaxy Note 4 showing a bed of candy with lollipops on the top. The text of the tweet simply says, “Anyway you look at it, the #GALAXYNote4 Quad HD Super AMOLED display is pretty sweet. #NoteTheDifference”. Although this doesn’t say exactly when the Android 5.0 update will arrive it’s a pretty suggestive tweet. We can’t imagine that Samsung would have issued this image if the Android 5.0 Lollipop update was too far away, especially as the company usually keeps pretty tight-lipped when it comes to information about future updates for devices.

We do know that Samsung work on the update is underway because of recent leaks of a Galaxy S5 running Lollipop, so fingers crossed the update for the Galaxy Note 4 may arrive sooner than anticipated. If you haven’t yet made up your mind whether to purchase the Galaxy Note 4 you might like to look at our recent review collection, or if you want to know more about Android 5.0 Lollipop you can view a video of it running on the Nexus 5.

Are you one of the first owners of the Samsung Galaxy Note 4? Do you agree that this Samsung teaser means the Android 5.0 update could be arriving soon? Let us have your comments.
